Implémentez la recherche côté client sur votre site Web avec cet outil JavaScript

  • FrançaisFrançais

  • La recherche est un incontournable pour tout site Web ou application. Un simple widget de recherche peut permettre aux utilisateurs de parcourir l’ensemble de votre blog. Ou permettez aux clients de parcourir votre inventaire. Créer une galerie photo personnalisée ? Ajoutez un champ de recherche. La fonctionnalité de recherche sur le site Web est disponible auprès de divers fournisseurs tiers. Ou vous pouvez adopter l’approche DIY et créer l’intégralité du backend pour répondre aux appels de l’API de recherche.

    Lunr.js fonctionne côté client via JavaScript. Au lieu d’envoyer des appels à un backend, Lunr recherche les termes de recherche dans un index construit du côté client lui-même. Cela évite les appels réseau coûteux entre le navigateur et votre serveur. Il existe de nombreux didacticiels en ligne pour présenter la fonctionnalité de recherche de sites Web de Lunr. Mais vous pouvez en fait utiliser Lunr.js pour rechercher n’importe quel tableau d’objets JavaScript.

    Dans ce tutoriel, je crée un index de recherche pour le 100 meilleurs livres de tous les temps. Après cela, je vous montre comment pré-construire l’index pour une indexation plus rapide. Je vais également vous montrer comment tirer le meilleur parti des options de recherche de Lunr. Et enfin, je vais montrer findmymastodon.com—une implémentation réelle de Lunr.

    Premiers pas avec Lunr.js

    Créez une nouvelle page HTML appelée lunr.html. J’utilise ce fichier tout au long de ce guide. Au sommet de lunr.html, appelez la bibliothèque principale Lunr JS.

    <script src="https://unpkg.com/lunr/lunr.js"></script>

    Noter: Vous pouvez trouver le code complet ici

    Chargement du jeu de données

    Ensuite, créez une variable appelée my_big_json. Cette variable contiendra la chaîne JSON-ified de l’ensemble de données principal. Définir la variable dans lunr.html au sein de la <script> Mots clés.

    var my_big_json = '[{"author":"Chinua J’ai besoin d’analyser ces données en tant que JSON afin que JavaScript puisse les traiter.

    my_big_json = JSON.parse(my_big_json);

    for (var i = 0; i < my_big_json.length; i++) {

        console.log(i + 1, " -> ", my_big_json[i]);
    }

    Pour m’assurer que le processus de chargement a réussi, je parcours l’ensemble de données JSON et j’imprime chaque entrée. Vous devriez voir ce qui suit dans le journal de votre console.

    Construire l’index de recherche

    Maintenant, je vais construire l’index de recherche dans une variable appelée idx en utilisant le lunr() fonction. Cette étape nécessite trois choses :

    1. Lunr renvoie une référence de document pour chaque document qui correspond à une requête de recherche. Et je dois dire à Lunr quel champ de l’ensemble de données doit être la référence. Habituellement, cette référence est un identifiant numérique unique à chaque document. Étant donné que l’ensemble de données ne contient pas un tel champ, j’utiliserai le link champ comme champ de référence.
    2. Lunr requiert également une liste de champs qui devraient faire partie de l’index de recherche. Pour cet exemple, je veux rechercher sur author, title, et country.
    3. Enfin, Lunr requiert l’ensemble de données : my_big_json variable.

    Je peux maintenant appeler le lunr() fonction pour construire l’index de recherche idx.

    var idx = lunr(function () {

        this.ref('link')
        this.field('author')
        this.field('title')
        this.field('country')

        my_big_json.forEach(function (doc) {
            this.add(doc)
        }, this)
    });

    S’il n’y avait aucune erreur dans le journal de la console de votre navigateur, la construction de l’index a réussi. Ensuite, je vais le prendre pour un essai routier.

    Recherche de livres dans l’ensemble de données avec Lunr

    Premièrement, je veux voir s’il y a des documents contenant le mot adventures:

    results = idx.search("adventures");
    console.log('Results: ', results.length);

    Je devrais voir ce qui suit dans le journal de la console :

    Results: 1

    Bien. Il y a donc un document qui correspond à la requête de recherche adventures. Mais comment l’afficher ?

    Comme je l’ai mentionné précédemment, Lunr renvoie la référence du document correspondant. Mais pas le document lui-même. Signification si j’imprime results, je vais voir ce qui suit.

    Ici results contient un tableau d’objets avec un seul élément. Et cet élément est ref le champ contient une valeur. C’est parce que j’ai utilisé le link champ comme référence. Pour afficher le document complet, je dois travailler un peu plus.

    results = idx.search("adventures");
    console.log('Results: ', results.length);

    var results_full = results.map(function (item) {
        return my_big_json.filter(function (value, index, arr) {
            return value.link == item.ref;
        })[0];
    });
    console.log(results_full);

    Dans le code ci-dessus, je parcours les résultats en utilisant le map() fonction. Je trouve alors des documents dans my_big_json pour toutes les références du jeu de résultats. Donc results_full contient les résultats complets de la recherche.

    0: Object { author: "Mark Twain", country: "United States", imageLink: "images/the-adventures-of-huckleberry-finn.jpg", … }

    Maintenant, je répète la recherche du mot-clé india. Le code est comme suit.

    results = idx.search("india");
    console.log('Results: ', results.length);

    var results_full = results.map(function (item) {
        return my_big_json.filter(function (value, index, arr) {
            return value.link == item.ref;
        })[0];
    });
    console.log(results_full);

    Et les résultats sont :

    Results:  4
    0: Object { author: "Kālidāsa", country: "India", imageLink: "images/the-recognition-of-shakuntala.jpg", … }
    1: Object { author: "Valmiki", country: "India", imageLink: "images/ramayana.jpg", … }
    2: Object { author: "Vyasa", country: "India", imageLink: "images/the-mahab-harata.jpg", … }
    3: Object { author: "Salman Rushdie", country: "United Kingdom, India", imageLink: "images/midnights-children.jpg", … }

    Et c’est aussi simple que ça ! L’ajout de la recherche pour n’importe quel tableau d’objets JSON ne nécessite que cinq étapes simples :

    1. Appel Lunr.js.
    2. Identifiez les champs de référence et les champs de recherche.
    3. Construisez l’index de recherche en itérant sur l’ensemble de données.
    4. Appeler le search() pour rechercher dans l’index et renvoyer les références correspondantes.
    5. Et enfin, récupérez les documents pour les références correspondantes.

    Pré-construction de l’index de recherche de Lunr.js

    Vous avez peut-être remarqué que l’index de recherche prend un certain temps à s’appuyer sur chaque actualisation de page. Le temps peut être imperceptible en ce moment. Mais ce ne sera pas quand lunr.html est sur un serveur distant. Lunr permet pré-construction de l’index de recherche pour rendre la recherche plus réactive.

    Il existe deux manières de pré-construire l’index. La première méthode consiste à sérialiser l’index après l’avoir créé. Comme j’ai déjà créé l’index dans le tutoriel, j’utilise cette méthode.

    var serializedIdx = JSON.stringify(idx);
    console.log(serializedIdx);

    je remplacerais alors my_big_json avec la chaîne sérialisée. La commande index load serait également modifiée.

    var my_big_json = lunr.Index.load(JSON.parse(serializedIdx));

    Les deuxième méthode implique d’appeler les commandes ci-dessus dans la CLI. Cette méthode est idéale pour s’exécuter dans un pipeline CI/CD. Je parlerai de cette méthode plus tard.

    Trucs et astuces de recherche Lunr.js

    Les moteurs de recherche Web comme CanardCanardAller fournir un moyen de prioriser les termes de recherche. Par exemple, un + signe comprend un terme de recherche, et un - chanter l’exclut.

    Lunr fournit des fonctionnalités similaires pour hiérarchiser les termes de recherche ou les champs de recherche. UNE + comprend un terme de recherche et un - signe l’exclut. Les ~ Le symbole permet une correspondance floue. Les ^ Le symbole permet de pondérer les termes de recherche. Et le : Le symbole permet de rechercher des champs spécifiques.

    Par exemple, pour trouver les meilleurs livres publiés en Angleterre mais pas par Shakespeare, la requête Lunr est :

    results = idx.search("country:England -author:Shakespeare");

    Cela me donne deux résultats :

    0: {author: 'Geoffrey Chaucer', country: 'England', imageLink: 'images/the-canterbury-tales.jpg', language: 'English', link: 'https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Canterbury_Tales', …}
    1: {author: 'Laurence Sterne', country: 'England', imageLink: 'images/the-life-and-opinions-of-tristram-shandy.jpg', language: 'English', link: 'https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Life_and_Opinions_of_Tristram_Shandy,_Gentleman', …}

    Lunr en action : findmymastodon.com !

    findmymastodon.com aide les utilisateurs à trouver, eh bien, les instances de Mastodon. Ces instances répondent souvent à des langues, des thèmes et des intérêts spécifiques. Et donc, le site Web avait besoin d’un moteur de recherche.

    J’ai commencé par créer l’ensemble de données à l’aide de Python. Les base de données contient des métadonnées pour des milliers d’instances Mastodon actuellement en ligne. j’ai ensuite utilisé Nœud pour créer un index Lunr sérialisé du JSON d’origine. Cette indice de Lunr est ensuite chargé en tant qu’actif statique. La recherche s’exécute sur cet index et les instances de Mastodon, si elles sont trouvées, s’affichent sur la page de recherche. Vous pouvez parcourir le Code source JavaScript ici.

    Conclusion

    Lunr peut s’avérer être un allié utile dans le développement web. C’est particulièrement intéressant pour les sites Web statiques qui ne reposent pas sur un backend actif. La prise en charge des index prédéfinis à l’aide d’une CLI est un énorme bonus de performances. Cela permet d’utiliser CI/CD pour récupérer les données d’un backend distant et créer l’index. Cela signifie que le backend n’a plus besoin de rester actif pour répondre aux demandes de recherche.

    La recherche côté client est une nouveauté pour moi. Je suis un développeur DevOps/cloud depuis longtemps, et je suis impatient de découvrir comment cela peut améliorer la sécurité et optimiser les coûts. Les navigateurs Web deviennent chaque jour plus sophistiqués. Les laisser gérer le gros du travail de recherche peut améliorer les performances, améliorer l’expérience utilisateur et réduire les coûts du cloud.

    Merci d’avoir lu ce tutoriel, et j’espère qu’il a suscité des idées créatives dans votre tête. Bon codage.
