The Diplomat is a media that offers geopolitical analyzes covering the entire Asian continent. It is a pro-Western media, but some of its analyzes are relevant.

The Diplomat is a media that was founded in 2001. It was originally an Australian paper magazine, but it became an online media in 2009 due to financial difficulties. The Diplomat covers news mainly in Asia, especially the Indo-Pacific region.

However, he is associated with several American think tanks, notably the CSIS (Center for Strategic and International Studies) which has links with the entire American political apparatus, be it the Deep State, the military-industrial complex and the foreign policies. The Diplomat gives voice to many “experts”, but you must always keep in mind that they propagate a pro-Western vision.

China is always the devil and India, a traitor if not the vassal of the United States. However, on certain issues, The Diplomat is far superior to what can be found in mainstream medias. It is obviously in English and you have 5 free articles per month, then you have to pay a subscription. I often use The Diplomat to get an idea of the attacks launched by the Americans against China and Asia in general.

Obviously, these are very biased opinions. So any attempt to decouple from the Western bloc is considered as a treason. The most liberal progressivism is over-promoted like women’s rights in Afghanistan (as relevant as selling sand in the Sahara) or LGBTism in China (sic).

Since I am a conservative anti-Western, this Western propaganda from The Diplomat pisses me off when we need real quality media to cover what is happening in the Indo Pacific. So, it’s a good media, but you always have to read it bearing in mind that it is American brains behind the articles.
